Sometimes making purchases online can be a great way to save money and find good deals on items that are hard to find. One of the largest places to perform online purchases is through Ebay. But when a purchase goes bad, sometimes your options are limited.

First off, you will likely need to resolve all avenues of appeal through Ebay and whatever purchasing agent you utilized (Paypal, Ebook, Moneymakers…). Once those are exhausted, your next option is to sue the seller. Unfortunately, you will likely need to sue him in his own jurisdiction, which might require you to travel at great lengths. Travel and lodging are not refundable in such cases, so suing a seller over a $50 watch might not be a financially good option if the opposing party lives across the country from you.

Sometimes having a local attorney send the other party a threatening letter about a lawsuit is enough to prompt them to settle the case. So depending on the amount in question it might be advisable to speak with an attorney on how best to proceed.
